Thursday 6th June

An evening garden party with a drink and canapes
at Little Court, Crawley, Hampshire by kind invitation of Mrs Patricia Elkington.

Set in 3.5 acres this lovely garden opens regularly through the National Garden Scheme.  Professor Lotery and Dr Jorn Lakowski (an academic vision science researcher in the University of Southampton and the Elkington Fellow) will be with us, as well as some of the research team.  The evening will be relaxed and informal but will provide a great opportunity to chat with us whilst enjoying a chance to enjoy this beautiful garden.

Macular Week is 24 - 30 June 2019

Please help us continue our vital research by holding a coffee morning or organising a 'dress down' day in the office.
Every pound raised brings us closer to finding better treatments for the many of us, young and old, who are threatened by the loss of sight.

9th Beaulieu Rotary Charity Walk Reception from 1.00pm / Start from 2.00pm

Do take the opportunity to walk or run between 1.5k and 8k to raise funds for Gift of Sight through the private woods of the Beaulieu Estate.

Wheelchair routes are available.  Please see the Rotary website for full details.  Please let us know if you sign up by emailing us at if you are taking part and fundraising for us as we'd love to give you a polo shirt to wear on the day.

Open Sight Exhibition at The Ageas Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton SO30 3XH

This biennial exhibition will feature talks by Professor Andrew Lotery and Associate Professor Jay Self, who both have vision research groups in the University of Southampton.

More details will be supplied by Open Sight nearer the date.


Rotary Romsey Test Way Walk Sunday 29 September 2019

We would love you to sign up to walk for us on the annual Rotary Romsey Test Way Walk.  Details are given on their website and please let us know if you sign up by emailing us at so that we can send you a GoS polo shirt to wear.  Please remember that JustGiving pages should be set up through Rotary who kindly send us your sponsorship funds, less a percentage which is kept for their own charities and to help with the cost of setting up this fabulous event.  We don't have the manpower to organise an event of this magnitude and it's a great walk through some beautiful Hampshire countryside.

Our annual Gift of Sight Carol Concert in Romsey Abbey will be held on Tuesday 17 December 2019.
